Pacific City

We spent a couple of days in Pacific City with my mom and dad, Alison, and Hannah and Ty the week of Christmas. The weather was amazing. Really...I've been to the coast quite a few times, in quite a few different seasons, and this was perhaps the most beautiful weather I've seen outside of the two days a summer it's over 65 degrees! Hannah and Ty just got a new camera, so it was great to have a picture taking buddy!

The first three were taken on our exploration up the coast north of Pacific City.

These two were taken the second night during the best sunset ever. It was incredible. The bright pinks, oranges, and blues were amazing!

Alison, Hannah, and I had fun writing in the sand!

And some people pictures to round out the trip!

Mom and Dad, we love you and hope you had as much fun as we did! Merry Christmas!

So Erik gets all the credit for the next two. He went for a run early in the morning and saw this Golden Eagle, ran back to the house, grabbed the camera and was able to get these pictures. I can't believe how close he got to the bird. What a huge animal! Great pics babe.

Where did December go?

We have had a wonderful and busy December. We were able to spend time decorating for Christmas, looking at Christmas lights, celebrating with family, and celebrating Erik's birthday! Here are just a handful of pictures from our month. We were able to spend time with my family at the beach for a few days before Christmas, but I will post more about that later.

Erik cutting down our tree. Turns out it is a big one!

The Hemry fam.

A little fun at the big family white elephant gift exchange. Who doesn't want used goggles?!

More gift exchange and picture taking fun!

We hope you enjoyed the holidays too!

Baby Photo Shoot

We are having a GIRL! We could not be more excited. We had our ultrasound on Friday. It was such an incredible experience to get to see her move all around and see all of her little working parts. We were just as thrilled to find out that everything looks great and she should (according to the hundreds of measurements they took) be a healthy baby girl come April!

Here are just a few pictures from her first photo shoot.
The first two are profile shots, the third is her little foot!

We think she's adorable already, then again we may be just a bit biased!

20 Weeks

Here I am at 20 weeks. I can't believe we've reached the half way mark. This is an exciting week for us...we find out Friday if we are having a boy or girl! Any guesses?

It's funny to me how there are times I still don't feel like I look super pregnant, and times I feel like I already look like I'm going to pop. Considering this was post Thanksgiving dinner, I feel like I'm more toward the "pop" end of the scale!

Lazy Saturday

It wasn't really a lazy Saturday, we actually did quite a bit...trip to the dog park, Erik fixed our fence, I caught up on laundry (I know, super exciting), my dad and sister came down to watch the OSU game (Go Beavs), Erik made some pumpkin pies, and we ended up getting to hang out with Parker tonight! Phew, not a lazy day at all.

It was so fun to have Parker hang out. We were apprehensive about letting Henry inside with Parker, but as you can tell from the following pictures, Parker could not stop laughing when Henry was near! Parker would crawl as fast as he could after Henry, and then try to pet him when Henry finally stopped moving, all the while laughing hysterically! Erik and I laughed quite a bit too. It actually made me feel a lot better about having a baby around with Henry, he was so gentle with Parker and let him pet him more than I expected.

Parker doesn't joke about dinner time! Look at those eyes...love them!

My little baker. Isn't the mini pie the cutest? We have a new neighbor and thought it would be a fun "welcome to the neighborhood" treat! Erik made a great pumpkin pie, such a fun fall dessert.

Game Day

Way back on Halloween Erik and I spent the day in Eugene. We started bright and early watching ESPN College Gameday. Tons of fun, some crazy people, and funny signs!

Oh yeah, and a duck!

We spent the afternoon with some family, and then headed back to the stadium for the game. It was a beautiful night, but more importantly, it was a great game!

p.s. Does anyone know why I can't get the captions above my photos to type without an underline?

Three little pumpkins

Alison, Erik, and I had our annual Halloween celebration night. For the past four years we have either gone to the haunted corn maze or carved pumpkins. This year we stuck with some yummy fondue and pumpkin carving.

Alison focused on her carving!

Erik focused on his carving!

Our baby even made an appearance!

A baby in a tummy, a jack-o-lantern, and a scary ghost! A successful night.

14 1/2 weeks

I've heard everything from "you are hardly showing" to "are you like 5 or 6 months along" So, you decide!

We are all well. I am officially in my second trimester and after a brief encounter with morning sickness, am now feeling great. Erik has tolerated (and in fact been very kind about) my random food desires and aversions, and has been all around wonderfully supportive!

We are getting more and more excited to meet this little one.

It Fits!

So I have this friend who is super creative and wonderful! We received this in the mail, all the way from Atlanta, a few days ago and I can't get enough of it. I think it might be the most adorable thing I've ever seen! I can't decide if the ear flaps or the fluffs at the top are my favorite part.

Gail, thank you! We love it and can't wait to send you a picture of baby wearing the "Oregon hat" Auntie GG made :)

Camera 101

About a week ago Erik and I got to go to a photo class/wine tasting event! We learned so much and had a fabulous time! Laurel was a great teacher, and even better, such a fun new friend. We visited two beautiful wineries close by. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world.

Here are some of the shots I got. Erik was mostly along for the tasting and modeling part of the class, I think he did great! I'm getting more and more comfortable using my camera, and a little better at editing.

Laurel was nice enough to take a picture of Erik and I at the end!

what we've been up to

Alison and I went to Alpenrose to watch the little league softball world series. It was so fun to walk around and see the cute old town. I haven't been there in ages, the place is adorable! We had a ton of fun watching the team from Oregon play a great game too!

Artsy wheel :)

Al in front of the hotel.

Such a beautiful day.

Great game girls!

Erik and I had some friends over today. The boys all played video games while the ladies and kiddos played in the backyard. Could these two get any cuter? Thanks friends for coming to play!
