Just A Walk In The Park

 Hazel,
Today was gorgeous, so we decided to go for a walk at Bush Park. We stopped at the swings, which you loved! Next we went to the slide. You and Daddy went down together. Not sure how you felt about it, I think you were watching a dog run around! It was so nice to be able to spend time outside.

Another family fun day for us!
We love you,

Sick Day

Hazel,
You've had a fever on and off for a few days, so today Mommy decided to stay home with you to see if we could get you better. Well, your fever seemed to go away but a cold came to visit. Despite the fact that you had snot coming out of your nose all day and you coughed and coughed and coughed, there was great light, so we went out to play for a little while. Yep, that's right, we went outside in January, in Oregon, even though you were sick...just for some pictures! You are quite a trooper. Even though you weren't your usual super smiley self you liked being outside. I think it was worth it.

Notice the drool...

As Daddy predicted, Henry has become quite fond of you since you started eating Cheerios. You are the best of friends!

Dirty little feet.

Aside from the amazing light, what I like best about these pictures is how much they reflect you right now. How you are always looking around at everything going on. Henry and Junie B were playing and you were far more entertained by them than by my attempts to get your attention!

Feel better baby girl.
We love you,
Mommy and Daddy

Hemry Family Party Weekend

Hazel,

A couple of weeks ago Aunt Hannah and Uncle Ty flew out to visit. Aunt Alison came up too, and we all spent the weekend together, it was great! We had so much fun hanging out, playing with you, going bowling, and eating lots of great food. Aunt Hannah sent some pictures from bowling. Apparently daddy was too busy beating the rest of us (until the very end when Uncle Ty got four strikes in a row-who does that?) to be in any pictures!

On Monday everybody came to our house. We hung out, played games, and ate...what else do we do?! Oh yeah, and you liked drinking out of Aunt Hannah's glass of water while spilling the water on Aunt Alison!

Here is our first attempt at a remote family photo! This was the best one we got!!

Kid and grankid silly picture!

We have so much fun with you!

I don't want to forget...

Hazel,
Just a few of this things I want to remember from right now...
  • The way you smack your lips together to tell us you are going to give us kisses.
  • How you look up in the sky and to the side when you do give us kisses.
  • The way, when I rock you before bed, you "pet" me with your left arm under mine.
  • How you, out of nowhere, started playing peek-a-boo with us in the car with your blanket.
  • Your new favorite activity...dancing. You stand at your activity table and rock away to the music, and then of course look around to make sure someone is watching you.You bob your head up and down and shake your tush!
  • How you cuddle your head on my shoulder while I hold you.
  • Your endless fear. You almost crawled down the stairs today!
  • How you rub your eyes and twirl your hair when you are sleepy.
  • You can feed yourself a bottle if you are lying down or sitting in your carseat
  • How you pull yourself up on any piece of furniture, or really just anything at all (including Henry).
  • How you got your first goose egg on your head when you dove out of your wagon to get a toy while a bunch of adults were standing just out of reach.
  • How you love drinking out of big girl cups. Aunt Hannah let you drink water out of her cup a bunch today and you ended up getting Aunt Alison all wet (you were sitting on her lap)!
  • How big your smile is when Daddy puts you on his shoulders. You grab his hair and giggle!
  • Your new fascination with patting your own mouth so your voice makes funny "oh-woh-woh-woh" noises. Apparently you don't need Mommy to pat for you!
Most of all I won't ever forget how much you make us smile. You bring us so much joy baby girl.

We love you so,
Mommy and Daddy

Nine Months

 Hazel,
Happy Nine Months sweet girl! Where to start about this last month...you are learning so much! We could break it down into a few different areas; food, moving, communication, and other.

First is food. You are eating a ton, you really have started to enjoy eating, and finger foods are a new fave! We have been less cautious with only giving you certain foods and have let you try lots of new things. You are getting better and better at getting the food in your mouth (as opposed to on your shirt or in your high chair)! You have been eating baby puffs for awhile, but now like Cheerios, bits of mango, bread pieces, and this morning you even had bits of our waffles! So far, you love it all!

Second is moving. Wow, sitting still is a concept you don't agree with! You are always moving. Whether it is big girl crawling, doing your "worm," walking behind your wagon, pulling yourself up on furniture or drawers, or cruising along the furniture, you are definitely always moving! Even the picture below proves my point! Monthly pictures was a little trickier this time...

Communication. Hmm, well you are making sounds all of the time! You talk to us, the animals, and now to your baby doll too. You love singing and dancing with your activity table music, and even dancing around in the car to the radio! You love telling us all sorts of stories, and we hear you talking to your baby doll in your crib when you wake up. You are so sweet!

Now to the other. My favorite new trick is that you are giving kisses. I love your kisses, they are so sweet! You even smack your lips together to tell us you want to give us kisses.

Hazel Jean, you are so special to us, and we can't believe how fast these amazing nine months have gone! We love you so much!!

Mission: Baby Swing

Hazel,
Today was such a beautiful day...really cold, but beautiful! We decided we needed to find you a baby swing, since you had never tried one out before. You loved it!! You laughed and laughed the whole time! Here are some pictures (with Mommy's new lens) of our adventure.

No, you are not mad. This is a combo of squinting and smiling!

Nana look, I pulled my hat off again!

See, I do like it!
