Mommy's Birthday Present

Hazel,

Mommy's birthday is the same day as your four month birthday! This year mommy is turning 30 and I decided I wanted a big picnic table for our backyard. Daddy is so awesome and made one for me! You were so good and just played and played while mommy helped daddy finish it up.

Finishing up.

The awesome results of Daddy's hard work!

How you spent your time.

We are so excited to eat lots of greats dinners and creating lots of great memories at our new table!

This is how I roll...well, how I rolled once.

Hazel,

You have been moving around so much lately! You scooch and scoot and spin around like a pro. Well, Daddy set you on your blanket last week so we could finish the dishes and when we checked on you a couple of minutes later you were on your tummy! You rolled over! We were so excited because you have been so close for awhile now.

Here's how you started

Here's how you finished

Now, since you did it once we assumed you would keep on rolling. Well, we were wrong! You haven't rolled again since. It's like you know that we are watching you and hoping you will roll, so you are choosing not too! Silly girl. We know you can do it, and I'm sure you'll do it again soon, but for now, here's how you spend most of your time...on your side!

We love you!

Three Months

Hazel,

Where has the time gone? You are three months old now and doing so much. You love tummy time. Well, you have always really liked being on your tummy and holding your head up, but now you love playing with your toys and looking in your mirror! Yes, you are playing with toys. I probably wouldn't have figured that out for awhile, but one day while we were at Nana's house she put some toys next to you and you loved them and started reaching for them and batting at them right away. You even grabbed a rattle she had for you! The next time Nana visited she made us go to the store and buy some toys for you. We got you a couple of balls that have bells in them, one makes a crinkly noise too! We saw Grandma last week and she got you a mirror that you love looking at yourself in! You are actually on your tummy looking in your mirror right now! You have also started trying to roll over. You don't quite have it, but I'm sure you will roll any day. You can get from your waist down flipped over onto your tummy, but you get stuck on your side and can't get your head and arm over! We love watching you try, you work so very hard.

You still love being with and talking to other people more than anything else! It doesn't matter who has you, as long as they are talking to you, you are happy and talking and smiling back.

You love to be held, and you love watching what everyone is doing! You smile and talk and talk and talk. I have a feeling you'll be our little chatter box! You especially love your daddy. As soon as he starts talking you look around to find him and smile your biggest smile (your legs curled up, your arms together, your dimples showing, and your eyes squinted shut)!! I think Daddy smiles just as big!

Your facial expressions crack us up! You make the silliest faces and we love them! Here are just a few.

Hazel, you are such a good baby! You are so flexible and love being in the car, being with people, playing by yourself, and just being around us! We are so blessed and never could have imagined how amazing these three months would be. You constantly make us smile. I think we say "she is the cutest and best baby in the world" at least ten times a day.

Here is a great pic of your big smile!

We love you big girl!

More weekly pics!

Hazel,
Here are some more of the pictures we have taken each week! To be honest, I'm not positive the first three pictures are labeled correctly. Oops! And yes, we are missing a week. Oh well. We've done pretty well with our week by week picture project. Daddy and I have decided that from now on we are going to do month to month pictures in your chair! We love you so much, and love to watch you grow. My favorite in this series is the last one, as it shows how you are holding your head up more and more!

Play Group Picture Session

Hazel,

We are so lucky to have such fun friends that we hang out with every week! You, Jackson, and Moira were all born in the same week at the same hospital. I met their mommies at a mommy and me group at the hospital. Now we see them every week at a different house. Usually we have lunch and hang out and talk while you three sleep, eat, cry, smile, sit, or lay on a blanket! Pretty exciting stuff! We decided it would be fun to take pictures of you now. Here are just a few from our photo session!

We love you,

Visiting

Hazel,

Wow, I have not done a good job of keeping up on what we have been doing. We have been really busy lately with all sorts of fun stuff! One weekend your cousins Sydney and Sophie came to visit you. We all went to the zoo and had a great time! They took turns feeding you.

We had such a good time!

This past weekend we went to Sunriver for the Fourth of July and you got to meet some of your mommy's cousins and aunts and uncles. You were quite a hit! We didn't get to hold you very much because everyone else wanted a chance! You got lots of loves. Here's a picture of you with Great Grandpa and GG.

We love showing you off!
